You are
hereby officially invited to join us for practice. We
welcome visitors to drop in any time during our practices.
We meet weekly on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 PM at the
Bethany Memorial Baptist Church in Aldershot
(539 Aldershot
Road)
just north of Kentville
on Route 359.
If you
are planning to come, please use the back entrance to the
gym. If you like what you experience, our Director,
Perry Jackson, will give you an audition and upon
approval, he will explain the next steps to membership.
Special Guest
Nights
Throughout the
year we have special Guest Nights where we organize an
entire practice time around introducing guests to barbershop
harmony. But you don't have to wait for one of those
special nights to visit us. Come along any time!
What to Expect
/ How to Join
A usual
practice night begins at 7:30 PM on Tuesdays in the gym area
in the rear of Bethany Memorial Baptist Church. Here's a
typical evening order of events (more or less):
> Gentle
stretching exercises of both body and voice
> Singing some
old favourites
> Practicing new
songs we are learning (we sing both sitting down and
standing on performance risers)
> Business
updates from the President of the chorus and others
> Coffee break
(Members pay $1 and guests are free!)
> Nightly
[optional]
draw
for a prize (tickets $1 each)
> Back to singing
and practicing repertoire songs until we wind up at 10:00 PM
